Wanna have some fun?

Quickly, get a crayon and write a letter to Senator Joe-just-like-Nintendo-and-their-making-Capcom-replace-the women-
in-Final-Fight-with-gay-men-thus-telling-us-that-it’s-not-ok-to-hit-women-but-it-is-ok-to-nearly-beat-gays-to-death-
Lieberman letting him know just how much you love the hardcore violence that Robocop portrays. Tell him that, along with Nintendo’s anti-gay policies, his supreme censorship tactics have you ready to take your place in the “Rainbow Day” parade with his face plastered on your ass while you chase down rednecks with bricks. Be sure to sign it “Your loving son”…

Now, let’s get to the actual review shall we?

It’s Robocop, just like you remember it...
….well, slightly more hardcore and bit cheesier. As we have all matured, unfortunately, we leave Robocop behind. Now, that is not necessarily a bad thing: Like laughing at people who have foolishly bought a Ford and are now in the process of dumping shitloads of money into them so they can almost be as good and fast as a stock Celica, a little immaturity can be fun. To piss off the white trash that wasn’t offended by the last comment let me say this as well: Like the jackasses who tear ass into third rate bookstores so they can whip their penis out and masturbate all over the latest issue of “Import Tuner” or something equally as inane, Robocop is pure, dumb testosterone.

Hard-fucking-core:
Just the statement “…excessively violent shots cut from the theatrical release to avoid an X rating” says something to me: It screams hardcore! The shots they speak of aren’t all they’re hyped to be though, but more like the extended scene from Fight Club that was cut for the very same reason. Basically, all of the hardcore violent scenes such as ED-209 mowing down some fuck in a suit, Murphy being blown to bits by the gang and a few others have been extended slightly showing more of the gore that this film gushes with.

“Bitches, leave”
With the slick quality of the disc, the red has NEVER come through better, nor have the shots been any louder. The film’s main score, like breaking a copy of “Steel Magnolias” over your knee, is absolutely inspiring and sounds great booming over the speakers. You’ll laugh out loud at the trailers in the special features section and I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining the storyboards section was. This is all navigated while various clips play in the background, one showing Murphy’s death(even the damn menu is violent!). The DVD itself comes in an incredibly stylish, metallic colored insert along with a 3 page booklet describing the many bits of satire contained in the film. If you have balls, this is a must own for you; don’t make me break a brick over your head to help you realize it…

Movie: 89 - Hardcore violence, hardcore action!
DVD: 90 - Slick packaging, informative booklet, violent menus: What more could you ask for?
